TRESemmé Returns as Hair Care Sponsor of NY Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

As part of its role as the longest-running official hair care sponsor of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, TRESemmé partnered with contemporary women’s fashion designer Vivienne Tam. When Freedom of Speech Goes Wrong..

I heard about this twitter account originating from Kuwait by what calls herself (Fatima Al Jahra’a) calling for an atheist future and challenging the existence of God.

The story might sound repeated and the idea was copied by several I’ve heard of. Though I spent a good amount of time going through her tweets and her answers, and her interactions with other tweeps. To me, it’s clear she’s seeking some sort of bizarre attention, but it makes you wonder, what would be the purpose of using such a topic to get famous? How old could she be? And what kind of background does she have? Coming from ‘Jahra’ one of the most conservative areas in Kuwait.

Her statements are very contradicting, and her profile pictures says ‘Thank God I’m an Atheist’. She does not attack Islam per say, but any religion who believes in God or some sort of worshiped symbol.

When I first heard of it, I was being asked to report the account and help block it, and it made me think, aren’t we at the time when most of us the new generations are calling for ‘freedom of speech’? well, here’s an example of a living case. Can we handle it? Or do we stop when we hear something that is not to our liking?

For me, believe it or not, I was never a believer in such a case..At least not when it comes to speaking of certain topics. I believe when your opinion starts offending the other it does not become your freedom to speak anymore! Not in the sort where you don’t care or you have no purpose, unless they could retaliate, an eye for an eye, isn’t it?

I’d rather be sitting with a group of people and discussing whatever we want with reason and respect. But going public for no purpose like that is not something I’d support. I ended up reporting the account, hoping it would work and be removed.

Arab Woman Beaten to Death in Hate Crime in the US!

Shaima Alawadi, a 32-year-old mother of five, living in California with her family since 1993, was found unconscious in a pool of her blood by her 17-year-old daughter on Wednesday, March 21st inside her own home. with a note saying “go back to your country, terrorist”!!

Shaima was hospitalized after being beaten nearly to death! Sadly, she has died at the hospital on March 24th due to the Injuries Sustained!

I wonder why such stories don’t get any reaction from this side of the world!! Disgustingly sad.

Conrad Murray Guilty In Death Of Michael Jackson

A verdict has been reached in the trial of Michael Jackson’s doctor, Conrad Murray, who was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the drug-overdose death of singer Michael Jackson after a jury deliberated for two days.

The mysteriously shocking and sudden death of King of Pop, Michael Jackson, is finally coming to end with this verdict and laying all other rumors to rest; Michael Jackson, died on June 25, 2009, at the age of 50..Murray pleaded not guilty.

Rest in peace MJ! You will always be truly an icon.

Facebook ‘Like’ button declared illegal in Germany!

The data protection centre of the northern German state of Schleswig-Holstein, said the social network’s application allowing internet users to express their appreciation of something online, illegally cobbled together a profile of their web habits.

Saying this contravened both German and EU privacy laws, it’s been demanded that websites in Schleswig-Holstein remove the ‘like’ button from their offerings by the end of September or face a fine of up to €50,000.

Facebook rejected the claim and said in a statement that the website’s social plug-ins were in compliance with European data protection laws. The company admitted the ‘like’ button could pass on information such as user IP addresses, but said the data was deleted after 90 days as per industry standard.

Manal Al-Sharif, the first 1st Saudi female driver was released!

Manal is one of the organizers of the ‘women 2 drive’ campaign that is being prepared to take place in Saudi starting June 17..She has been in jail since May 21st when she was the first female to drive her car in Saudi, and got arrested for it!

Power to her!
