Radiant Orchid: The Pantone Color of the Year 2014

Radiant Orchid

Pantone announced Radiant Orchid, a captivating, magical, enigmatic purple, as the color of the year for 2014. “While the 2013 color of the year, Emerald, served as a symbol of growth, renewal and prosperity, Radiant Orchid reaches across the color wheel to intrigue the eye and spark the imagination,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “An invitation to innovation, Radiant Orchid encourages expanded creativity and originality, which is increasingly valued in today’s society.”

Radiant Orchid for Fashion
Radiant Orchid’s rosy undertones radiate on the skin, producing a healthy glow when worn by both men and women. A dazzling attention-getter, Radiant Orchid permeated the runways during the spring 2014 fashion shows and is already making its way onto the red carpet. Fashion designers featured in the PANTONE Fashion Color Report Spring 2014, including Emerson by Jackie Fraser-Swan, Juicy Couture and Yoana Baraschi, are incorporating Radiant Orchid into their spring collections and variations of this hue will carry into men’s and women’s clothing and accessories throughout next year.

Radiant Orchid for Beauty
A modern and surprisingly versatile shade, Radiant Orchid enlivens the skin, making all who wear it feel more healthy and energetic. Blending both cool and warm undertones, purple is an appealing hue for distinctive combinations and flattering to many hair, eye and skin tones.
This multifaceted hue is seductive when combined with red and pairs well with its sister shades of lavender, purple and pink, which provides an assortment of lipstick and blush options. Radiant Orchid’s exuberance also acts as a brilliant finishing touch to nails.

Radiant Orchid for Interiors
Spruce up interior spaces by incorporating this eye-catching hue in paint, accent pieces and accessories. As adaptable as it is beautiful, Radiant Orchid complements olive and deeper hunter greens, and offers a gorgeous combination when paired with turquoise, teal and even light yellows. Likewise, the vibrant color is sure to liven up neutrals including gray, beige and taupe. Uplifting and bold without being overpowering, Radiant Orchid reenergizes almost any color palette and provides a unifying element for diverse spaces.

Visiting CenterPoint @TheAvenues

001

Couple of weeks ago, I was invited by CenterPoint Group on a tour inside their newly opened store at The Avenues. I’m sure we’re all familiar with the diversity of brands available at CenterPoint stores, but this one went far beyond what we know a CenterPoint store would be, being the 2nd biggest in the region, and definitely the biggest in Kuwait, The options are endless.

002

003

the furniture section, Home Center, has a big number of furniture displays, and I found it to be very organized and easy to browse. Bedrooms, Living Rooms, Dining Rooms, Toilet Ware, Kitchen Ware, Lighting, Home accessories, Carpets, you name it, they have it. In multiples!

One thing that caught my attention, and which I did not notice before for some reason, is there bags section, they carry original brands such as Guess & Paris Hilton, and more.

0023

The advantage of shopping in such a huge store, that everything you’re used to is bigger in size! The brands are separated in a very organized way, and are arranged in individual sections, for men, women, and kids.

And not to forget the charity aspect, Being Human clothing brand, owned by Indian actor Salman Khan, with royalties that support education and healthcare of those less fortunate.

The kids department is tremendous! Huuuge! Way bigger than all I’ve seen at a CenterPoint store before! Great for me!

And finally, the luggage and shoes sections, very neat.

0034

Thank you CenterPoint for the tour. Loved the store, and I went back and got a baby stroller & a glass center table that I’m absolutely in love with. I’m definitely gonna be passing by whenever I hit The Avenues. CenterPoint is located at the Basement, below The Mall Area and Soku (any elevator or escalator within these 2 phases will take you to CenterPoint)! Yup, that’s how big the store is!

Ramadan Night @Safat_Home

On the occasion of the opening of their new store location, Safat Home organized a Ramadan social media event dedicated to the local bloggers.

They offer a wide range of building material, home furniture and accessories for a complete home shopping destination. Will be definitely going back there with hubby 😛

The evening started with a presentation by Safat Home staff, telling us their social media plans for the month of Ramadan. They will be holding online contests for their fans and followers on twitter & instagram.

Then the fun began, our play time! We were asked to look into the envelopes inside these bags placed for each of us on our seats.

And this is what we got! A collage of images of items that can be found around Safat Home! The deal is simple, finders keepers! We find the item in the store, take an image, upload it to instagram with the hashtag #Safathome! The first person to upload an image of one of the items will take the same item home 🙂

And these are the photos I took! I found everything ‘with some help of the sales people at the store’ 😉

Wasn’t so fast snapping most of these pictures though except for one! And this is my winning 🙂

Thank you Safat Home for the invitation and for a light fun evening. Safat home new store is located at Shuwaikh, opposite Abyat. Follow them on Instagram and twitter @Safat_Home to take part of their ongoing contests.

@BecarreLS Annual Exhibition Sneak Peek

Today at 6:00PM, Becarre will be launching their Annual Exhibition that will be going on till Thursday. I got the chance to preview the collection 2 days ago, and the word is , a new level of class!

I’ve been a fan on their work since I’ve heard about them, around 2 years ago. I used to work in the same building, and whenever It got too much at my office to handle I used to go there and just enjoy looking at the art behind the exquisite pieces.

This collection was no different; delicate, flawless pieces, that you would spot anywhere and know the designer behind them in a blink of an eye.

I’m in love with the tribal yet cultural feel of the pieces. The mix of design is absolutely brilliant!

The outdoor area was being prepared for the opening today; breathtaking set up!

The yummies..

This cake by Cake Story tasted SO good! Get more information on it here.

The exhibition will continue for 4 days till March 29th – 9:00AM to 2:00PM and 5:00PM to 10:00PM. Don’t miss out!

A Peek Inside: Christian Louboutin’s Desert Home In Egypt!

French shoe designer Christian Louboutin lives the best of the two worlds; the craze of fashion and star-studded events, the signature red-soled stilettos he creates, and, the regular appearances on international red carpets. The other is a private retreat nestled in the desert near the Egyptian city of Aswan! not far from the banks of the Nile!! Louboutin comes here throughout the year to design new collections, rest, and practice yoga.

The rooms are decorated with pieces Louboutin has collected on his travels: Uzbek embroidered fabrics, Moroccan rugs, handmade furniture from Cameroon; the heart of the home is the open-air courtyard, with a fireplace that blazes through the cool desert evenings.
