BHS Spring/Summer 2014

Shot_02_163 copy

For some of us, BHS is likely to conjure childhood memories of shopping trips with mom. However, in recent years, BHS has been given a boost, restoring its status as a family favorite. Whilst great value products are at the centre of everything they do, a dash of contemporary style adds to the customer experience. 2014 is going to be an exciting year for BHS, with new ventures yet to come.

The new collection is clean and simple. The texture and fabric, color and print, are all beautifully explored this season in womenswear to create a collection of contemporary femininity that is sophisticated and wearable. Prints from a far field and closer to home offer something for the bold and something for the traditional. Ikat, zebra, and tribal in monochrome juxtapose digital floral prints in watercolour blue on white palettes.

My Sheena Sujan Barclay Tote

As one of the world’s most exclusive purveyors of luxury leather handbags and accessories, Sheena Sujan’s tradition of excellence shines through. Sheena Sujan, announced the release of her first collection last September 2013 in Los Angeles. Her leather goods are crafted in the same Italian province where the top global luxury brands have produced their accessories since the early 1900’s. Every Sheena Sujan design is constructed by expert artisans and masterfully cut and stitched together by hand, using only the finest Italian leathers and exotic skins. This heritage equates to an exquisite collection of simplistic-timeless elegance.

001

I was so excited and lucky to be contacted by the designer, Sheena Sujan, herself, offering me one of her infamous Barclay totes in a color of my choice. I chose the camel brown, sent her office my shipping address, and waited.

002

Few days after, I got a package delivered my the door, and I couldn’t wait to open it. I haven’t been familiar with the brand earlier to my communication with their team, however, with a bit of google, I was able to find amazing reviews on the quality and the designs. And I was not disappointed. The bag came in a beautiful black satin pouch with the Sheena Sujan emblem stamped on it in deep gold. The leather of the bag is clear to be of top-notch, fine skin, and the interior is made of what looks like gorgeous red chamoi.

003

The details of the bag were of pure classic delicacy. The Sheena Sujan emblem, is the first little thing that caught my eyes while I unwrapped the tote. And I found the story behind that powerful emblem; The Sheena Sujan emblem is fabled in ancient history as a creature of regal beauty. The two-headed tiger stands strong; she’s the master of her own destiny, a legend in both the ancient and modern world. Her majesty and exclusivity foretell tales of royalty and might. A true representation of such a strong coming brand.

006

I definitely wore the bag out the same night it arrived to its new home. It was a 9 degrees kind of freezing-cold night, so I styled it casually with my denim, and a salmon pink coat that covered a hundred layers under. I will be wearing out a lot and will share with you guys the different looks through my instagram page.

A Paradise Lost By The Posh Fairy

In my social life, I meet a lot of women, most of them, if not all, are very beautiful and take real good care of their appearance, they are always happy when you bump into them at social gatherings or events, but behind closed doors is a different story, a struggle, and a painful rejection. This scenario has inspired the concept for this shoot, a paradise lost, or a paradise that only ever existed in the woman’s mind, before she wakes up to the agonizing reality.

Desperation over a fleeting love, rage over the doubt of betrayal, a burning, unrequited desire to be loved. Can you summon those sensations? Hold on to them as you take one woman’s journey towards a paradise lost. Let the air of desperation and 1960s melodrama cling to you like the aroma of tobacco clings to tweed, like the way a trail of mascara tears stains fine satin.
